Ayurvedic Correspondence Course, Ayurvedic Distance Learning and In-Person Classroom-based Ayurvedic Education: Om Namo Medicine Master Buddha! Sangye Menla! - the Patron Buddha of our Indian Medicine - Tibetan Herbal Medicine Herbal Correspondence Course and Ayur-Veda School. In the Tibetan Medicine Tantras (Four Tantras or rGyud bzhi), Shakyamuni Buddha describes Medicine Master Buddha as an Supremely Enlightened Being who has special powers of healing. The special healing blessings of Medicine Buddha may be obtained by reciting his name or mantra. In Tibetan chant "Om Namo Baghawate Bhaghandze Guru Bhadurya Prabah Raja Tathagataya Arhate Samkya Sam Buddhaya Tayatha Om Bheghandze Bheghandze Maha Bheghandze Raja Samudgate Soha". In Sanskrit chanting "Aum Namo Bhagavaté Bhaisajya Guru Vaidurya Prabaha Rajaya Tathagataya Arhaté Samyaksambodhi Tadyata Aum Bhaisajé Bhaisajé Bhaisajya Samudgaté Svaha". For centuries, Buddhists have been reciting this mantra prayer, to bring an ultimate healing of spiritual disease, as well as cures for everyday problems of the body and mind. [Apprenticeship Auditing of Daily Ayurvedic Herbal Health Consultations at the Medicine Buddha Healing Center
Master Herbalist Losang Jinpa,  D.Ayur, M.A.H. offers enrolled students of the Ayurveda Healing Arts Institute the ability to "audit" as many Ayurvedic consultations at the Medicine Buddha Healing Center as possible in their schedule.  These apprenticeship sessions count for "clinical requirements" of the American Herbalist Guild Mentoring Program and Master Herbalist.  For each apprenticeship consultation audit you attend, it is suggested to make a sliding scale donation offering to the Center of roughly the same price you would pay for a typical Yoga Class (around $8 to $15).  Medicine Buddha Healing Center consultations typically last from 1 to 2 hours per client and are by donation only -- in other words, Medicine Buddha Healing Center and Losang never charge the client money but instead the client voluntarily makes an offering (dana in Sanskrit) to the Medicine Master Buddha or to Ganesh.  Losang's Medicine Buddha Healing Center consultations are during the hours of 10 AM to 6 PM (sometimes from 6 PM to 8 PM) throughout the week and on also Saturdays.  Please R.S.V.P. over the phone (510-292-6696) with Losang BEFORE coming to a client consultation.  If a client decides at the last minute not to have a student apprentice auditor present during the Ayurveda consultation, then the student may not attend and will be required to leave.  The student can however go to study temporarily at the nearby library until the next client arrives.  Unlike the 10 minute free Elephant consultations which are purely for herbal remedies, Losang's Medicine Buddha Healing Center consultations cover the gamut of Ayurvedic assessment methods (8 methods - pulse, tongue, listening, asking, looking, form, eyes, digestion, waste products [urine, B.M., sweat, nails, mucous, hair]) and Ayurvedic therapies (chikitsa).  These classical and modern Ayurvedic healing arts include customized Ayurvedic herbal formulas, to healthy diet and nutritional recommendations, "neutraceuticals" and vitamins, lifestyle, meditation, massage therapy, acupressure (marma chikitsa therapy), foot-hand-ear reflexology pancha karma purification / cleansing massage therapy, Chinese tui na, Tibetan massage, or other massage, moxabustion (herbal incense therapy), cupping, gwa sha (gentle back scraping), skin care and facial treatments, Chinese herbology, Western herbology, energy work, Indian Vedic Jyotish or Chinese astrology, Ayurvedic vastu shastra (feng shui), counseling, aroma therapy, sound therapy (mantra), Ayurvedic color therapy (chromotherapy), etc. Medicine Buddha Healing Center is located at 2427 McKinley, Suite 1 (between Channing and Dwight 1 block west of Martin Luther King - Click here for directions.

[Apprenticeship Auditing of Weekly Sunday Ayurvedic Herbal Consultations at the Elephant Pharmacy
Students should also sit in on all of Losang's free 10 minute Ayurvedic consultations at the Elephant Pharmacy each Sunday from 3 PM to 7 PM.  Elephant is located at 1607 Shattuck Ave (at Cedar), North Berkeley 94709 (click here for directions).  Please CALL US to R.S.V.P., no e-mail available. At Elephant Losang will typically see from 10 to 20 clients in a four hour period for customized herbal remedies only.  Elephant herbal consultations typically last from 10 to 15 minutes per client and are free-of-charge.

Michael Reid Kreuzer, D.Ayur, offers free 15 minute Ayurvedic Herbal Medicine consultations and 1 to 1.5 hour seminars to all customers of Elephant Pharmacy. Come learn about Ayurveda in a group setting and understand the Ancient Healing Wisdom of the Ayurvedic Elephant God of Healing - Ganesha!
